To enjoy your Lume candle at its best, we recommend a few simple care guidelines. Because each piece is handmade and sculptural in form, slight variations and specific precautions are part of its nature and its beauty.
Before lighting
Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant holder or tray before lighting it. This helps protect the surface underneath from heat, wax drips, or marks. Never place a candle directly on wood, marble, textiles, lacquered furniture, or other delicate materials without protection.
While burning
Do not leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from drafts, curtains, children, and pets. As each candle is sculptural and handmade, the wax may melt and flow in a naturally irregular way depending on its shape and the surrounding temperature.
Material notes
Each Lume candle is made by hand, so slight variations in shape, surface, and colour are part of its character. Because many of our candles are made using recycled wax, the tone may differ slightly from the images. This material variability is a natural part of the process.
Custom wax options
All Lume candles can be made on request in natural waxes, including beautiful coconut wax. For those seeking a more even finish or a perfect white tone, we recommend choosing non-recycled wax or coconut wax.
